I’m sure we didn’t utilize him to the fullest extent because we are self-motivated folks who just aren’t used to being doted on. It seemed as though we saw him multiple times a day all around the resort and he always made sure everything was exactly as we had dreamt it would be. The preferred package afforded us expedited check in, a check in bar with gorgeous and delicious snacks, a private butler and exclusive pools and lounges across the resort. The room was very clean and kept immaculate through their housekeeping service. The third floor gave our jacuzzi, located on the balcony, a very intimate feel. We booked the preferred junior suite with partial ocean view. We, instead, postponed our wedding and decided to just enjoy each other’s company after a very difficult year. Unfortunately, there were two deaths in our family and many were unable to attend. My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our wedding. If I would have done this then they could have still stated they resolved the issue. I refused and they made several attempts to get us to the cabana even if we did not sign. This was an attempt to cancel out any transaction disputes based on additional gifts from the resort. In order to accept this “gift” they wanted me to sign a Non-Disclosure agreement stating that I would not post this issue on any only review websites. Keep in mine we were staying in the upgraded room that already had a cabana. Non-Disclosure Agreement? For all of the issues from this stay the resort they offered us a double cabana. The issue with going to Breezers is that the buffet was closed on several nights and we had to continue ask where we could eat. We were not informed of any of these closures in advance and had to go over to Breezer to eat. The construction resulted in permanent and temporary restaurant closures (Spice and the Buffet). Under Construction – Restaurant Closures The resort is under construction. The resort would not resolve this issue or return the overcharge and assisted it was a US bank issue. What occurred was that the bank that processed the card transaction changed the exchange rate and added an additional 4% upcharge that was transferred to me. My bank does not charge an additional 4%. I spoke with the preferred desk and they stated that my bank had changed the exchange rate to 48 and charged me a 4% international transaction fee. Afterwards I checked my account it reflected a charge that was 4% above the amount. At the time they were not able to print out my receipt. Upon check in I was informed by the preferred club that the exchange rate was 50.50 an we would be charged for the amount that was on the invoice. Beware – Change Rate Changed and additional 4% Transaction Fee – check your receipt before signing Our reservation was made through with a guaranteed invoiced amount. I asked for but never got to speak with an onsite assistant or manager. He aided and assisted us in communicating our issues to the management team. I requested that Mr G (Gabriel) who is an exceptional, attentive, and caring butler. Butler Our original butler was named Felix and we did not see or hear from him until the 2nd day. This was our third stay at the Now Onyx Punta Cana and our worst stay. The resort would not resolve this issue or return the overcharge and assisted it. Our reservation was made through with a guaranteed invoiced amount.
